Happy Friday everyone! Hopefully I’ve packed enough in this post to get your Friday kicked off right and to carry you through the weekend.
Okay, don’t all fall out of your seats but I’m leading off this blog post with a recipe. I wouldn’t dare claim it as my own. I couldn’t get away with that anyway because most of you know that I don’t do the cooking in our house. It isn’t that I cannot, I just do not. It isn’t my bliss, or whatever the word du jour is. I’m always happy to share a good thing when I find it, though, and that’s exactly what I’m going to do.
As I have also made very clear here on the blog, making better nutritional choices is important to me this year and I am happy to report that I have done well so far. Except for Friday night because that is pizza night. Or nights when I’m just unmotivated and Greg is at a soccer game so I drive thru Chik Fil A. Or when it’s math night at school and they serve pizza. But other than those nights, I’ve been really good.
In seeking out healthier options for lunch in the café at work, I found a sandwich called the Gourmet Slim Sammy. Today I learned that they will be changing up the Slim Sammy the week after next. I thought I would share the recipe so you can enjoy the low-cal goodness at home. It’s got the savory/sweet thing going on which makes it heavenly. Each sandwich packs about 270 calories, but it’s so good that I want to eat four at once. I’m working on portion control as well, I promise.
Oh, and one last thing. Because it is so fracking cold out now, you might want to pair it with some soup. You know. The good kind. Straight out of a can.
