Thank you, thank you very much!
I am officially a blogger starting ta-day! I was talking to my sister about why I started a blog and what I wanted to say to the world. To be honest, I’m not quite sure what the focus of my blog will be or where this will take me. My career is on hold right now so that leaves me with more time. And all of you working moms who put their career on hold to raise your family will identify with this next part. I have a lot of pent up creative energy, a desire to speak and be heard, to motivate and lead a team, to come up with a new marketing strategy or a way to increase traffic to my store, and on and on. A marriage counselor once told me to apply my sharp business skills to my home life. To imagine my 4 girls as the team. To use my organizational skills at home on the family budget and weekly menu. To use my keen ability to create winning strategies to figure out how to get the laundry done AND put away in the same day. Believe me, I heard the message. But from one working mom to another and with all due respect to the marriage counselor….it’s different, right?
At any rate, I have always loved to write so blogging seems very natural to me. I comment quite a bit on others’ thoughts and ideas, and what it boils down to is that I decided that my thoughts and ideas were worthy of their own space in the world. (How’s that for some self confidence?) It may look like a garage sale of ideas around here for a while with a schmattering of topics as far-reaching as shopping, traveling, marketing, product reviews, and raising 4 kids. My promise to the readers is that I will try my hardest to keep it somewhat organized so that you can easily find what you want to read and to make it somewhat informative (emphasis on the somewhat). My true hope is that it is, above all, entertaining.
